Slava Ukraini!
Slava Ukraine!
As you may have surmised, today I feel like talking about Ukraine. Just wanted to get my thoughts onto paper and share them with you all. What I think we did wrong, what we did right and what we can do better. Just random thoughts from the peanut gallery, I guess. When the war first started, I’ll admit I had a mild freakout. Almost as soon as the news broke, I started to DM the white House on Facebook as if anything I had to say in that moment was relevant. But it made me feel better, so I continued. I started treating it like a one-way pen pal, offering dumb advice, criticism, praise. For some reason though I think they listened. I’m unsure who listened, could have just been an Intern or the President.
I have no idea. We are after all looking for connection with each other, after all.
At first, I was pleased with the response from my elected officials; sanctions, weapons, Aid funding, it was all good. We moved back into a cold war era stance, which was the correct move. NATO stepped up and did their job, until Putin did what he dose best. Manipulated people and turn them on there own country, as this was literally his specialty while he was in the KGB. Weather he has black mailed our political figures, paid them, regardless of the case, it seems some in the government and some who used to be in the government suddenly became Russian Sympathizers.
Witch began the period of time witch it became more about resistance and playing to the “Party Media” Audience, which is what News seems to have devolved into. They seem to be in one of three camps, the first is Left, then Right and naturally the Center with a lean left or right. There seems to be too much effort to put up Opinion pieces as justification for there position. The opinion pieces started to affect the political figures, and they then played into it. Intentionally or otherwise, I will leave that up to you to decide. they slowed their efforts to counter the Russian Menace. At a time when we should have been flooding the endzone with weapons, tanks, Jets, we were worrying about how it looked and red lines. It became a sad state of affaires in the House of Representatives, we stopped playing “game theory” because we where to busy being at each other’s throats.
Now that we are getting closer to the General election, with it being a presidential cycle some have found a backbone and got their job done. Witch I am extremely pleased. However, I feel it’s a day late and dollar short. Now we must make up for lost time, I say we give them every F16 we got and start rolling out some of our advanced prototypes. Continuing to modernize our armed forces. The only way Putin will come to the negotiation table and end this in an equitable way is if they see and feel the pressure from the Ukrainian Army, until they do this war will continue and we will just keep investing. So, weather you want to stop support or keep it going. The best solution is to Over supply the Ukraine army with weapons and other Arms.
