Tyranny of the minority in the modern era
Tyranny of the minority is not just something that just occurs between the two parties in this country, to put it bluntly and in more modern terms. Tyranny of the minority occurs when the few in a group such as the republicans or Democrats weald their power to sway the outcome of our political system. For example, MAGA or DFL 06.
MAGA and the leadership at the DFL 06 both use similar tactics, fear from there base, intimidation, and so many other dirty tactics to shut down political operations and sway their base voters. Witch at DFL 06 conference it was around a one hundred people, most of whom were scared out of their mind’s democracy was ending. While they all were smart reasonable people, there fear was controlling them and the people at the top of DFL 06 were feeding it and busy attacking Dean Phillips for having the audacity to engage in a political process, designed to address what the voters think and want. I support having the strength to put yourself out there like he did, it cost him a bit, but overall, you now know who Deen is, correct. I do not have to imagen the difficulties he faced, not to mention some of the people who he considered friends turned on him. It is what tends to happen in situations such as this that the most fearful portion of the base decided his fate.
I feel a similar pain myself, having lost a lot, along the way to the end of the endorsement process. This is why I am going to use voice from this point forward to push for Rank choice voting. Approximately 10% of voters are engaged in the primary process and even less in the endorsement process. Both of which at this point are controlled by the most scared individuals, it forces candidates to cow tail to them witch they enjoy, it makes you feel important in a world made to make us feel unimportant. The system as it stands now has a 94% incumbent survival rate nationwide, regardless of party. I would and will argue that if we wish to reduce the tyranny of the minority, we have to change the process in which we operate to shake the few controlling the process. I will oppose anti-democratic practices regardless of who or what I have to call out, regardless of party. For the good of the United States, we need to adapt or die. Fear can no longer serve as a means to fight our political fights. We must snuff out the few who have so much control and return the process of choosing our Leaders. They should have to do and know more than the national talking points.
I will fight the entire system if I have to.
