The working-class shift,How COVID19 cost Democrats the Presidency

The 2024 presidential election loss for Democrats did not have much to do misogyny, racism, or sexism. As George Carvel says it is the economy stupid, however he fails to recognize that it is not the broader economy, but rather individuals economies that matters. As I can illustrate through charts and graphs, via the economic recovery from COVID-19, The separation people felt in their life was due to the unequal recovery,

The reason some people felt that the economy was not as robust as it appeared to be, was due to the uneven recovery. Ignoring racial or gender data, You find that the dividing line was overall whether you had a bachelor's degree or not.

People who had bachelor’s degree experienced a higher job recovery rate during the post-economic shutdown under Donald Trump, then people who lacked a bachelor's degree. Job losses from the shutdown did not recover for people without bachelor's degrees until into 2024.

This is what largely accounts for the working-class shift, You take the uneven recovery with the inflationary pressure felt. somebody without a bachelor's degree would have been struggling at the time. Combined that with the messaging from the White House, along with an over focus on the middle class and not the working class. It is easy to see. Why, the shift in working people happened? Particularly low-income people who as illustrated by this graph had longer and more sustained job losses.

While, yes misogyny, racism, bigotry in general did play a part for a certain percentage of people voting, overall, the majority of people voted with their pocketbook And in their personal economic interests in mind. the exact same reason Donald Trump lost his 2020 election COVID, Is why Harris lost as well.
