The moderate Democrats War
For a minimum of the last 15 years possibly longer, The moderate part of the Democratic Party or as I like to call them the right wing Democrats have waged a war against progressive ideals and candidates. Leading to not only the Democrats earning the moniker do nothing Democrats, Directly leading to the decline in Democratic base support. As the moderate (right wing) of the Democratic Party has largely held control of leadership since the 1990s, yet every time they receive an electoral loss their initial and only reaction is blame leftists in a left-leaning party. Than push the party further to the right mimicking Republicans, In some vein attempt to win over center voters. A tactic that for at minimum 15 years has proven to be a failure repeatedly.
In 2024 the predominance theory was embrace right wing propaganda on the border economy and even incorporating some Republican congressmen into the fold of the presidential election. This is a general tactic of right-wing Democrats. Even if you were to look at something like MSNBC some of their top hosts are Republicans, Joe Scarborough, Nicole Wallace, Michael Steele just to name a few. yes, they do criticize Republicans quite a bit, They also attack left leaning progressives quite a bit as well. then frame it as well the Democrats should be doing this to pick up centrists, it's the same story on repeat. Alienate the base to pick up mythical centrists or the disaffected Republican. In 2020 I believe Joe Biden won because he picked up progressive policies such as getting rid of student debt, his white house was largely staffed by left leaning progressive staff, which largely agitated groups like the third way a right wing Democrat think tank, who's then began plotting on staffing the next white house with right-wing Democrat staffers.
In 2016 the right-Wing Democrats had the opportunity to stop Donald Trump, It was Bernie Sanders. as it turns out they thought so little of the situation, that they sabotaged Bernie Sanders campaign, Even in and amongst all the controversies swirling Hillary Clinton with an investigation pending, yes even Jeffrey Epstein affected the 2015 presidential hopes of Hillary Clinton. But for some reason right-wing Democrats were insistent on running Hillary over Bernie. It's beyond me why you would run such a flawed candidate to beat our current fascist president Donald Trump.
Even if you look at Obama, largely his appeal was his campaigning against corporate interests; such as venture capital, the banking system and stock market that assisted in creating the conditions for the housing crash. Then turned and listened to right-wing Democrats, bailing the banking system out, leaving the average person to suffer the consequences. Enabling what I like to call the Obama backlash, I believe Donald Trump is a direct results of the housing crisis, the right-wing Democrats handling along with their war on progressive ideals. Obama turned right so hard, in response to the housing crisis, at one point he offered Mitt Romney's ACA for healthcare, opposed to Medicare for all. This hard turn right and disillusionment with the hope and change message Obama had, produced a vacuum for a populist such as Trump to take control of the narrative, his preferred vehicle for that message was a little green radio known as Twitter. the right-wing Democrat donners extorted Joe Biden in 2024 to be removed from the Democratic ticket, threatening to defund the entire democrat party. As joe made his exit, so reentered the right wing Democrats to throw the election by disenfranchising their own voters. mimicking Republicans on key issues such as Israel / Gaza, immigration, border security; As it turns out for people like john tester who mimicked this tactic by the presidential campaign lost their election. the more the right-wing Democrats try to force the party right the more the party loses, not only credibility with its base but in elections as a whole.
Only by embracing progressive ideals can the Democratic Party regain its status as a party for the working class person, as the party of FDR; I often hear Democrats say they love FDR. what he did for the country was largely socialist progressive ideals The moderate right-wing democrat will pretend they care. but in reality, all they want to do is force us to follow along with Republicans. in deregulating our government, cutting our social services adding means testing to what's left of them. Only giving tax breaks to the wealthy in some unknown hope that it will trickle down into our pocket. however, this will never be the case.
Only by creating a BIG New Deal with the American people, Can the Democratic Party regain The strength it once wielded.
