Housing Crisis: Section 8 Is Failing, We Need Real Homes

Section 8 housing has become a bipartisan failure. Instead of helping, it forces people to wait years—sometimes nearly a decade—for vouchers that often expire unused because landlords refuse to accept them. Meanwhile, the housing supply remains too low, and rental-focused policies only feed an economy of eviction and corporate landlords. America doesn’t need more landlords—we need more homes.

  • Rapid Deployment of Homes:

    • Massively scale up 3D-printed housing to quickly build affordable, disaster-resistant homes at a fraction of traditional costs.
    • Prioritize family housing over short-term rentals and corporate-owned properties.
  • Confront Property Devaluation: A rapid increase in housing supply will lower existing property values. The burden must fall on those who already own homes—not the unhoused and working class struggling to survive.

Stopgap measures won’t fix America’s housing crisis. Expanding Section 8 or rental development just delays the inevitable. To truly end homelessness and restore the middle-class pathway, we must rapidly build hundreds of thousands of real homes in every state.
