Welcome to Minnesota District 6, Home
I have been struggling for the last day or so to describe what this district means to me, mostly because I have so much to tell it's hard to pick out something. I could tell you about the times me and my friends would screw around in there wildlife preserve up north of big lake, MN. We used to spend a lot of time just hanging out at a horse trail head; There was an outhouse, we just hang out and be away from the city for a while, we did a lot of driving back in them days, let's put it that way. Or I could tell you about the distant family on my dad's side of the family that lives up and around Foley, Minnesota. Maybe, how when we turn 21 the place to go was the red carpet up in St. Cloud, MN. How you can just drunkenly wander around the Red Carpet building to different bars and lounges. Or how Delano, Minnesota has the best 4th of July and really great block parties, it's so much fun.
I believe it's because I grew up here that I struggled to describe it. Almost 35 years of ups and downs, victories, and losses, all the hours of killing time with friends and family or just working. I've grown up with the people here, watched sleepy little Monticello MN grow into a beautiful hustling bustle City. I’ll be 40 in October, with the exception of 5 years spent living in the woods of Wisconsin, this has been and will always be home. I have become fiercely defensive of this place, as I suppose anybody would who was kicking the same dirt for so many years. For the most part, people here I have found people here tend to want to be left alone by the government, work, live. occasionally blow off steam and have some fun, in-between the struggles of the day to day. Most of my life was spent in the same way. Just attempting to make my ends meet for the day to day survival.
that's exactly why I want to represent Minnesota District 6, Because the memories are so varied and many, all I want is to see this place grow. All I want is to see the people in it do well, It is home after all. I sometimes tend to focus on a lot of national things or international things; because more often then not, national and international is presented to me via news. but at the end of the day, I based the solutions on what I think is best for our district and our home for Minnesota. Like me, we all have to admit Minnesota is a pretty great place to live. Are there some things I wish they did better sure, but this could be easily said about anything or anywhere. I think I had to leave for a short while too understand, Just how different it can be living in different states.
It's never anything really major that's different, it's always so slight, almost unperceivable until something happens and then you realize. For example, when roe fell, Minnesota and Wisconsin's reactions could not have been any more different. That was a pain in my family felt personally, one that I felt personally. It is the thing that pushed me off the fence into the game of politics. When John Lewis died, Lawrence O'Donnell did a reading with Samuel l. Jackson doing voicing John's last words, This literally began the push towards becoming a politician and wanting to run for office.
Back then I was planning on running against my US house representative, Derek Van Orden; God that guy's such a dork. But then life kicked me in the teeth, I ended up back here in Minnesota at home. Preparing to beat the ever-living snot out of arguably one of the most Republicans in the House of Representatives at the moment, why? for the fun of it in part, the other is Tom Emmer or Emma as I like to call him is a really scummy bottom of the barrel kind of guy. just to be a little vulgar about it, he'd probably blow a lobbyist for a thousand dollars. Honestly, we can do better than tom. We actually have to do better for the people that live here, For the people that don’t just visit like Tom Emma.
