Speech is Freedom

In America We have a long-standing tradition of allowing you to express yourself as freely as possible, from protest to parody. So long as no physical harm comes to others, We are free to express ourselves as we see fit. as I said before, the line has been drawn for an exceptionally long time. This is expressed by the old statement; yelling fire in a theater, when there is no fire. This is not predicted speech, Because harm can come to others through this act of expression. When we generally speak about the first Amendment, in my mind I tend to categorize things into one of three categories.

The first is probably the most important category of an individual's right to free speech, We must always maintain the individuals high level of protected speech. In the United States. People as unfortunate as it is, have the right to say some horrible things and we intern have the right to say terrible things and otherwise verbally shame the person who said the terrible things in the first place. It works both ways, so long as no physical harm comes to anybody through the verbal exchanges. Every person in the United States has the right to call you an idiot or otherwise. However, no one in the United States, Man, woman, or child has the right to threaten any individual's life or insight people to violence. This is where our free speech ends and traverses into things like terroristic threats and instatement to riot. The second category of speech is the amplification of speech through moneyed interest. when I say amplification of speech in general, I am referring to one or two things; The first is money in politics. Something we must remove by publicly funding our election systems and banning the PAC, money for politics should come from individuals and our taxes, and they should both be limited, definitely not corporations.

The consolidation of media companies such as newspaper and TV outlets, local and national; under monopolies managed by the world's richest few. This amplifies the narrative of the few over the narrative of the many, leading to a misconception of the reality in the United States of America. Based on a few Wealthy individuals preconceived perspective. While others have no amplification of this of speech in this manner, amplification of speech through money is not free speech, it is amplification. Therefore, we must break up the major media companies in order to have a more diverse set of voices delivering the news for everyone. not just two siding, one argument.   The third category and relatively newest category of speech is online speech. How can we handle people's right to express themselves, alongside what to do about bot armies and the amplification of misinformation via malicious bots or AI. This ties into dead internet theory a bit, which states since 2016 or so. The internet has been flooded by bots and now AI. As we now say, the internet is no longer a place for humans by humans. So, I think one of the initial things we must do is deal with the algorithms, as they are key to flagging posts that indicate harm to others or oneself. We can also use the algorithm to attune to these forms of posts to de-amplify them, so fewer people see them. Allowing them time to be flagged for internal review, if warranted review by outside authorities. The simplest way to get social media company Giants to comply with this would be to produce a set of ever evolving guidelines and regulations guiding them by implementing federal laws.

Then we must turn our attention to Is mandating, social media companies develop and implement measures to remove and restrict bots from their platform. Most companies have developed techniques to restrict AI from accessing their data for AI training purposes. This demonstrates their ability to restrict bots if they choose to. However, unlike AI, bots can count for user activity making their platforms seem more active than they otherwise maybe. By limiting bots and other malicious AI we can reverse the trend of the dead internet theory making the internet by humans for humans again.

It is entirely in our power to curtail free speech, while not limiting it. We do not have to force ourselves to become word police, or book banners simply because we do not like the way other people use their free speech. We can use our free speech to insult and otherwise verbally shame them. We do not have the right to take their free speech. Free speech is the fundamental right in the United States, that I nor anybody else should stand for being taken from anyone. Not by a company, not by a government, not by another person. We must always remember, Words are one of the deadliest weapons in the world. Countries rise and fall on words, war and peace is made with words. The most powerful thing humans possess are words and language, they give us great power, We must take great responsibility and care with them.
