Five weeks of pain for political gain.
Neither political party cares about you or me or anyone in America unless you're a fortune 500 business, big tech or part of the 1%. Everyone else is beneath our dear political leaders it would seem, regardless if you prefer Republicans or Democrats, none of them care. The entire political system in America is one giant joke on all of us. Just look at what the “good guys” did, they shut down the government for five weeks telling us it was for healthcare and insuring everyone maintains low premiums or whatever they were on about. no sooner do the elections end did Democrats give up on the healthcare. This last five weeks should demonstrate how both just parties don't care and are willing to put all of us through hell just to win an elections. The only game they're playing is with each other; we are nothing but casualties in their endeavor for power. neither party serves the American people, shut down like this happen seemingly every single year. Mostly due to political parties existing, nothing but a game between two political parties for no reason whatsoever. Can anyone tell me what its all for? I have lost the plot on why they exist.
There are some forms of government in this world, some forms of democracy that require political parties to operate. America is not one of them, in fact I would argue that America was designed to operate with no political parties. The existence of political parties breaks the constitution and deprives us of checks and balances. As we are witnessing with our totalitarian Republican government, when one party has control of all branches of government there are no checks and balances anymore due to the simple fact the system was balanced against itself; not outside organizations seeking to control it. The same could be said true if the Democrats had control of all three branches of government there would be no checks and balances. And demagogues come in all shapes, sizes and political leanings. Then you pile on the supreme Court's outlandish ruling that the president is above the law and we're in totalitarian country.
As George Washington wrote in his fair well speech:
“All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency.
They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.
However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”
Abolish the parties return the will of the people to the people, this last five weeks demonstrates how callus cruel and uncaring both political parties are.
