Why, did i wright the 28th amendment?
I Wrote the 28th amendment – Women’s Right to Reproductive Health, in December for one simple reason. my family suffered a loss in May of 2023, our unborn child. Due to extreme Stress my wife Ellie went into Premature labor leading to an unviable Pregnancy, as there was no longer any fluid around the Baby, the lungs had no way to Develop. As much as we would have loved to have this child, this life was not meant to be unfortunately however it Did Lead us to have an experience that I would like no one to ever have to go through, being forced to travel for medical care. At the time we were in the woods of Wisconsin, living just outside a small village called Lafayette, WI.
As the doctors refused treatment for Ellie out of fear of being legally prosecuted, they told her to come home. When I received the news of this, Immediately I had her get dressed and once our other children were out the door for School. We set off for my Hometown Hospital in Monticello, Mn. The Doctors here in Mn ran their tests eventually sending us to The UoM hospital in Minneapolis, consoling us and running more test. They sent us to planned parenthood who performed the procedure to help Ellie recover to a healthy state so we could attempt to have another child when the time was right.
which happens to be this moment, it is a Boy!
This is an Experience that I want no one to ever go through, sadly it is something that happens daily. You just do not hear about it; it is deeply personal. Most rational people do not like to talk About this kind of thing, I cannot blame them. If I did not pour all that pain, rage, and sadness into the 28th amendment, I would not be sitting here today.
I commend all the work that Has been done in the Name of Reproductive rights, but I fear that Law itself will not be Enough. I table toped what would happen if the 117th congress law was passed, I keep coming back to a lawsuit that will lead to the supreme court. It just put us back in the same spot we are in now with the PEOPLE suffering for political games. At best, the Law passes, the lawsuits are thrown out and we “win.” Then the next 50 years are spent with challenge after challenge degrading the law to the point it is useless, like what they did with the voting rights Act. Law alone is not enough. Anyone who has ever called women's reproductive Health a right should understand.
Law Grants Privilege, the Constitution Grants Rights!
